‘Deficiency Free’ ACHA Audit
Hopewell’s Tallahassee office recently received a ‘Deficiency Free’ audit from the Agency for Health Care Administration (ACHA). The mission statement at ACHA is simple: “Better Healthcare for all Floridians.” Through their audits of health care companies, ACHA enhances the care of all Floridians by ensuring that providers are licensed, that policies and procedures are being followed, that fraud is reported and unsafe providers are removed from providing services.
A deficiency free survey indicates that the health care provider is providing the highest level of care and that they are following state laws. The ACHA survey covers topics such as: patient safety, emergency preparedness, patient’s rights, infection control and many other areas. Therefore, achieving a Deficiency Free audit in time of strict regulatory oversight is difficult and increasingly rare.
