Donna Gunter, RN Supervisor
As RN supervisor, Donna has served with HomeChoice Home Care now for 6 years. Her role as supervisor is in training and giving guidance to HomeChoice Home Care’s nursing assistants. This includes assisting them with concerns or questions they may have about their clients, as well as being a liaison between the clients and their medical team such as doctors, therapists, Home Health nurses, etc.
As a child growing up in Charlotte, NC, Donna would often go with her mom to assist others in their times of needs such as delivering meals, transporting to and from the grocery store or other errands and assisting in their homes. Little did she realize this was sowing a passion for helping others in their times of need.
Donna later completed 4 years of college in Nashville, TN starting as a business major but after being introduced to the medical field in her junior year, she immediately realized this would be her passion for life. After college, she worked in a clinic where her passion continued to grow. This led her back to school to become a Registered Nurse. Through the years, she has worked as a float nurse in multiple hospitals such as Wake Med, Duke Health Raleigh, and Wilson Medical Center giving her the opportunity to work on every unit in the hospital with the exception of ICU. This well-rounded opportunity prepared her for this current position as a Home Care nurse dealing with multiple various health issues.
Donna continues to have a desire for helping others and enjoys working with the nursing assistants to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for the in-home experience.
