A Look Back at HomeChoice Holiday Celebration Week
As December continues, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a week filled with gratitude, connection, and celebration. At HomeChoice, the holiday season is about more than festive decorations, it’s about recognizing the incredible caregivers and staff who bring compassion, dignity, and heart into the homes of those we serve every single day.
Earlier this month, we proudly celebrated our team during HomeChoice Holiday Celebration Week, and it was a wonderful reminder of what makes our home care family so special.
A Festive Start & Sweet Stops All Week
We kicked off the week with Bagels & Coffee in the office, welcoming caregivers to stop by, grab a bite, and connect with our team. Throughout the week, the office stayed cozy and cheerful with cookies and hot cocoa available anytime, making every visit feel like a warm holiday break.
Holiday Fun, Giveaways & Togetherness
Holiday Celebration Week gave caregivers plenty of reasons to stop in and join the fun, including:
- Holiday gifts and raffles, available to those who came by the office in person
- Our Holiday Cash Dash, with raffle prizes including:
- $200 cash
- $100 cash
- $50 cash
- Two PTO giveaways
- Polaroid photo fun, capturing holiday spirit to decorate our office tree
- A holiday gift-wrapping station
- Decorating holiday cards for our clients, spreading cheer to seniors and families receiving in-home care for seniors
- A Coat “Drop & Swap”, allowing team members to share gently used coats and pick up ones that better fit their family’s needs, a true example of our caring and compassionate culture.
Supporting Our Care Team in Dementia Care
As part of our continued commitment to caregiver support, we also held our Caregiver Dementia Support Group during the week. Facilitated by our staff, the group provided a supportive space for caregivers to connect, share experiences, and feel encouraged.
We are proud to be one of the few home care agencies in the Triangle offering this level of support for caregivers working with clients living with dementia.
Parkinson’s Paid Training & Ongoing Education
To close out the week, caregivers had the opportunity to participate in in-person Parkinson’s paid training, helping them expand their skills, work toward Parkinson’s certification, and enter our Parkinson’s Raffle. Ongoing education like this helps ensure our caregivers feel confident and supported while delivering high-quality senior care services.
Investing in Skills: December In-Service
Caregivers also had the opportunity to attend our December In-Service, “Can-Do” to Can-did!,” featuring Galberth Health’s Range of Motion & Mobility Training. With two sessions offered, our guest speaker Sonia shared valuable insights on:
- Range of motion techniques
- Safe transfer practices
- Mobility strategies to better support clients receiving home care services
Celebrating Our Office Team
The celebrations extended beyond caregivers as well. Our office staff enjoyed a night of bowling, spending time together outside the office and strengthening the teamwork that supports our caregivers and clients every day.
